Keeping the word within your home starts with doing just that and making it part of routine, culture, environment and atmosphere.

Our kids have many questions they need answers to and so do we. I am not sure what exactly occurs in our schools and in our homes as we observe changes in children. It is therefor important to have them incorporate a daily read of the word in their routine and a weekly family devotion. There is no exact age I can say this should occur but I will say that if you are reading this, the time is now. It appears that the early in age the better and before the age of 12 can be critical for some. I have seen kids come to hard conclusions about the world around this age and what they believe as well as what their family believes. Don’t take my word for it, ask them what they believe, especially if it is not a priority to read the Bible or even if it is something you do often. Allow them room to responds openly in a moment where they are open for engagement. Timing a teen openness for engagement can be difficult for some parents but lets just say that it may be when your child is in good spirit.

The positive is that the foundation will present as plastic if not rooted in truth, as you are able to expose them to the truth with confidence that you believe what is in the book.

Here are some scriptures to explore on friendship.

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15:16-17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sa“A longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil. Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭13:19-21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Demonstrate what it means to be salt and light, attune them to the times they or you have done it. Hope this is helpful to you and yours. Kidstrive
